Plasma pen treatment leaves tiny dots that form small crusts while the skin heals, so preparing for it is as much about your diary as about your skin.
Before
- Whether the treatment suits you depends on your skin type — we assess it at the consultation.
- Avoid sun, sunbeds and self-tan on the area in the weeks before.
- Pause retinol and exfoliating acids on the area for several days beforehand.
- Tell us if you get cold sores, especially before treatment around the mouth.
- Plan several days without important events: the crusts must come away on their own, and make-up can't go on the area until they do.
- Come with clean skin and no make-up on the area.
During
- A numbing cream is usually applied first.
- The device creates tiny dots on the skin's surface; you may feel heat and a pricking sensation.
After
- The tiny dots form small crusts — let them fall off on their own and don't pick or scratch.
- Keep the area clean and dry as advised, with no make-up until the crusts have gone.
- Swelling is common in the first days, especially around the eyes.
- Protect the healing skin from the sun and use sun protection afterwards.
- Contact Magda if you notice signs of infection, such as increasing pain, heat or discharge.
