Laser and RF treatments react to the skin you bring on the day, so most of the preparation happens in the weeks before your appointment.
Before
- Avoid sun, sunbeds and self-tan on the area in the weeks before — tanned skin can mean postponing.
- Pause retinol and exfoliating acids for several days before fractional CO2, RF microneedling or a carbon peel.
- Tell us about prescription acne tablets taken in the last 12 months, medicines that make skin sensitive to light, and cold sores.
- Laser tattoo removal needs a patch test before your first session, usually 24–48 hours beforehand.
- Plan some downtime after fractional CO2 — redness and flaking are normal for several days, so don't book it before an event.
- Come with clean skin: no make-up, cream or self-tan on the area.
During
- Laser tattoo removal: you and the practitioner wear protective glasses; each pulse feels like a snap or flick.
- Fractional CO2 and RF microneedling: a numbing cream is applied first; you'll feel heat and pricking.
- Carbon peel: a thin carbon layer is applied and then removed with the laser; you'll feel warmth and light snapping.
After
- Redness, swelling and sensitivity are common; after fractional CO2 the skin also flakes for several days.
- Keep the area clean, don't pick scabs or blisters, and follow your written aftercare.
- Avoid sun, sunbeds and heat, and use high-factor sun protection.
- Contact Magda if blistering spreads, you notice signs of infection or anything worries you.
