Before, during and after: Laser Hair Removal

Show the guide

Laser works on the hair root, so how you treat your hair between sessions matters as much as the day itself.

Before

  • Shave the area the day before your session.
  • Shave only — no plucking, threading, epilating or hair-removal cream before or during your course, because the laser needs the root in place.
  • Avoid sun, sunbeds and self-tan in the weeks before each session.
  • Come with clean skin: no deodorant, cream or make-up on the area.
  • Your first session needs a patch test, usually 24–48 hours beforehand — allow for an extra short visit.
  • Tell us about any new medicines before each session.

During

  • You wear protective goggles; the area is cleaned, and a cooling gel or tip may be used.
  • Each pulse feels like a quick snap or warmth.
  • We check how your skin reacts as we go and adjust the settings if needed.

After

  • Redness and small bumps around the hair follicles are common for a short while.
  • For the first days, avoid sun, sunbeds, hot baths, saunas, sweaty workouts and perfumed products on the area.
  • Use sun protection on treated skin between sessions.
  • Keep shaving only between sessions.
  • If anything worries you or a problem comes up, check in with Magda.
